**Andrea Cowan** is a family wellness educator, writer, and speaker who has spent over fifteen years helping parents navigate the intersection of technology, child development, and family connection. Her work has been featured in *Parenting Today*, *The Family Tech Journal*, and on the *Raising Digital Natives* podcast, where she is a recurring guest. She holds a master's degree in developmental psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and has completed additional training in media psychology and digital wellness at the Columbia University School of Professional Studies.
Andrea's approach is grounded in both research and real-world practice. As a mother of three children spanning elementary school through high school, she has tested every strategy she recommends in her own home — and has the messy, imperfect, hopeful stories to prove it. She believes that effective parenting in the digital age does not require parents to become technology experts but does require them to stay curious, stay connected, and stay present.
Andrea founded the Digital Family Lab, a community resource that provides workshops, small-group coaching, and practical guides for schools and parent groups. She has delivered keynote presentations and led parent education nights at over two hundred schools, community organizations, and corporate campuses across the United States and Canada.
When not writing or speaking, Andrea can be found hiking with her family, playing the piano (badly, by her own admission), reading middle-grade novels to stay connected to her children's world, and — like every parent she writes for — trying to get better at putting her own phone down. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and three children.
