Moby Dick (Collins Classics)
À propos de cet e-book
As for me, I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote. I love to sail forbidden seas, and land on barbarous coasts.
‘Call me Ishmael’, the narrator begins, having fled New York City to start a new life on a Nantucket Whaler. Signed on to the Pequod, the crew have unknowingly enlisted in the mad Captain Ahab’s monomaniacal quest for vengeance on the white whale who took his leg. An epic chase across the world’s Oceans, Moby Dick is a thrilling tale of vengeance and obsession, and a searing parable of good and evil.
Few literary masterpieces cast quite as awesome a shadow as Moby Dick. Comic and dark, philosophical and scientific, Herman Melville’s epic is a work of extraordinary psychological depth, a true classic and perhaps the finest sea story ever told.
