Becoming a bloodsucker had fixed her knee problemsâwhich was, so far as Simone could see, the only good point.
Simone Deschants was all ready to begin a new life as a middle-aged divorcÊe, until a monster's attack turned her into something unspeakable. Now she hunts down vampires while trying to ignore her own terrible, raging thirst. Until one night, an old, powerful specimen finds her.
No name, no home, no sanity. An eternity of roaming the night has become madness, true death looming ever closer... until a leman crosses his path. Now the ancient wanderer has found the prize every sanguinant seeks, and his survival is assuredâif he can hold what he has claimed. He will stop at nothing, and his hold on her is assured.
Unless, that is, another powerful predator snatches her away. Because someone else has noticed Simone's existence, and has plans of his own...
