Who watches the Watchmen? Now you do - every time you check the time.
Doomsday Clock is an animated analog watch face after the clock that closes every chapter of Watchmen: a yellow clock face with Roman numerals, its hands creeping towards midnight, blood running down it a little further each time.
• The blood is alive. Drops slide down the trails and off the bottom of your screen, and waves of blood run down the rivulets - a seamless loop that never stops.
• Real liquid, not paint: thin smears are translucent red with the numerals showing through, thick rivulets a crimson close to black, all of it glistening as the light catches each bulge and drip.
• Dried trails, stopped drips with heavy bulbs, and spatter across the dial.
• Classic bold Roman numerals, IIII at four, set round the dial as on the original badge.
• Black hands with a crisp white edge so they read over the darkest blood, soft shadows beneath them, and a blood-red second hand.
Everything you need at a glance:
• The date under XII
• Today's steps, your battery level and your heart rate - the battery turns blood red when it runs low
• A step goal ring around the edge, filling up as you walk
Make it yours: press and hold the watch face, tap Customize, and switch the step goal ring off - or back on.
In always-on mode the blood comes to rest and only the hour and minute hands stay lit, dimmed and gently shifting position to protect your screen.
Made for fans of Watchmen, the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons - for everyone who has followed Rorschach's journal through the rain, watched Doctor Manhattan on Mars, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre back in costume and Ozymandias at his Antarctic fortress, and who remembers Edward Blake, the Comedian, and the blood on his badge. The Doomsday Clock is ticking: wear it.
